The first volume of Vivaldi's Sacred Music was an instant hit when it was first issued and it now has four volumes to accompany it with quite a few planned in the future.

The irresistible zest of Robert King's 'Dixit Dominus' is the main feature of enjoyment here whilst splendid interpretations of the rarely heard 'Lauda Jerusalem' and the miniature 'Credo in unum Deum' are fantastic examples of Vivaldi's prowess as a writer for choral forces. There is also a splendid 'Magnificat' to boot, another piece in which soloists and orchestral cum choral forces are uninhibited and unbuttoned in their exhaustive enthusiasm for such wonderfully ebullient music.

I could not put the disc out of the CD player although I had already encountered before in its previous incarnation. Remember that this is at mid price until the end of the year so grab your copy now!
