Franz Danzi
(1763 - 1826)
Though Franz Ignaz Danzi (15 June 1763 - 13 April 1826) was a cellist himself, his greatest contribution was to help establish the quintet for oboe, flute, clarinet, horn and basson as a significant chamber music form. His father was a noted Italian cellist, but Franz was born and spent his entire career in Germany.
