Supraphon issued this disc in their Archiv section but the clean, crisp digital place it amongst the front runners of this music.
The Rhapsodies are informed with great warmth and natural beauty especially the Second which is my particular favourite. The more famous Third is also very well played by the CPO who is obviously tailor made for this wonderful music. I also recall Paavo Berglund's excellent foray into the Third Rhapsody that is also very nostalgic for this writer but Gregor is indeed an excellent exponent. The conductor certainly relishes the exuberance of the 'My Home' Overture but must yield to István Kertész's legendary account on Decca for sheer enjoyment and unbuttoned ness. 'The Hero's Song' is one of the weaker Dvořák works and has been well served by Järvi (Chandos) and Wit (Naxos) but Gregor is also a very persuasive advocate of the piece.
Very interesting fare at mid price then, you surely cannot fail to be entertained by such wonderful music.
