Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by John T. Williams

There has been much anticipation for Steven Spielberg's latest film, "Munich" and a major part of the movie's success must be attributed to John William's beautiful score.
The music spans the whole gamut of human emotion ranging from the emotional and stirring "Hatikvah" to the sinister "Encounter in London". "Munich 1972" sets the scene with an ideal thrust that describes the danger surrounding the doomed Israeli athletes in William's admirable manner.
A particular characteristic of the score is the lamenting voice so typically present in all Jewish music. At times, one is given the impression that this is William's "Sacred Service" but the link to the film's events is undeniably evident.
To sum up, another essential score from Williams that again uncannily depicts all the aura and tragedy behind those unforgettable events at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
