These two LPs afforded the greatest pleasure for enthusiasts of the British Light Music genre, a golden period of which was the 1950's and 60's when these recordings were set down.
The Grainger items are positively bucolic and bubbly with some astonishingly clear recordings especially in the delightful "Mock Morris" and the easygoing "Country Gardens".
The nostalgic "Children's Overture" by Roger Quilter is another party piece that has Dunn on absolute top form, superseding Leaper's recording on Marco Polo with aplomb.
The other items include some of the gems in this repertoire such as Curzon's "Boulevardier", Binge's "Watermill" and the suites from Tomlinson and Hope.
Although each LP is given a separate disc, the double album is offered at the price of one and it is a must for lovers of this genre to acquire. The lovely front covers of the original issues are reproduced in their full glory for this invaluable issue.
