This is the second recording of Rosetti's concertos for two horns and orchestra, featuring Klaus Wallendorf and Sarah Willis as soloists. The horn players of Rosetti's orchestra inspired the composer to write many concertos. Some of these compositions call for two solo horns which was rather unique at that time.
Again the two players – both members of the Berlin Philharmonic – display breathtaking virtuosity in both a complete concerto Murray C61 and in an Andante movement of another concerto, Murray C55Q – the authorship is uncertain, it may have been composed by Joseph Haydn's brother Michael Haydn). In addition each of the two horn players appears in a concerto for horn and orchestra, Klaus Wallendorf in Murray C48, Sarah Willis in Murray C50.
The orchestra again is led by Johannes Moesus who not only serves as President of International Rosetti Society, but also has established himself as an expert on Rosetti's music.
