This is indeed a delightful collection of melodies and tunes from some of the most famous operettas. Popular and rare are genially mixed together with the obligatory excerpts from Offenbach's 'Orpheus in the Underworld', Strauss' 'Die Fledermaus' and Suppé's 'Boccacio'. However one notes with delight the inclusion of Planquette's 'Le Cloches de Corneville', Suppé's 'Fantinitza' and a myriad of rare trivia by Heuberger, Millocker, Gasparone and Hellmesberger. There are also a fair share of overtures by Offenbach and Strauss. All orchestrations are very well matched and the project is also good value for money at the White Line price. Although the recordings are generally variable, the collection is a must have for lovers of the genre.
