Cantata 15

  • Easter Sunday
  • Epistle: 1 Corinthians v. 7-8 (Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us)
  • Gospel: Mark xvi. 1-8 (Christ is risen)

Cantata BWV 15 is now considered to be by J.L. Bach and is classified in Anhang III of the BWV (reserved for those works formerly attributed to Bach but now positively identified to be by other composers). A reference for the attribution of this work is Scheide, Bach-Jahrbuch, 1959, 66ff. I am not aware of a currently available recording of this work.
