Warner continues to regale us with a host of rare operas at bargain basement price in their excellent Erato/Teldec Opera Collection. Rossini's "L'Inganno Felice" is a delightful one act comedy which contains a host of memorable tunes and arias but it is remembered for its spanking Overture which is an exact copy of "La Scala di seta".
Minkowski's band at the Tuileries Festival is obviously completely at one with the music and his team of soloists rises to the occasion quite superbly. This is to my mind the best version of this rarely recorded opera now available.
