The quote says that Hannibal Lecter is back and the sinister front cover is evidence that Elfman's music to the series of Hannibal films is as good as ever, with the aptly titled 'Red Dragon'.
You get a sort of Chinese tint to proceedings here but the score is as horror laden as possible with titles such as 'The Old Mansion' and 'Tiger Balls' quite spine chilling in their effusive portrayal of wanton violence so spookily characterized.
The CD also includes a multimedia feature on the character of Hannibal Lecter that is interesting and very well presented. As already mooted in my previous reviews of film music, such scores need to be listened to in a visual context but again, Decca have issued a fine aural representation of the happenings throughout the film.
'Red Dragon' promises to be one of the most interesting cinematic releases and the score is of similarly high quality with engineering pretty much from the top drawer. You take your pick and pays your money!
