This wonderful collection of sacred music has reached its seventh volume and the disc on offer here includes some delightfully ebullient pieces, full of zest and vitality.

By far the longest work is the Jubilate and Gloria, RV 639, this is full of wonderful melodies and great beauty especially in its final moments. Vivaldi's scoring makes the most out of instrumental and ornate colourings with King and his soloists ideal exponents and on top form throughout. The 'Laudate pueri' RV 601 is also very fine with the usual momentum breaking forth at certain intervals but always retaining the rigidity of sacred and holistic harmony. Two shorter works are also included, 'Laetatus sum' and Vestro Principi divino, these are colourful pieces that have the chorus in a good and lively mood. King's team of soloists are all team players and the music really comes alive with their spirited contribution that is also necessary to lift these works off the ground.

Wonderful presentation matches a crystal clear recording, which is definitively first class throughout. This is an obvious first choice to those who have been collecting the series already and also highly recommended to any lover of sacred music.
